I gotta say - after seeing the Jockey rising up out of the floor and the Derelict crashing to the ground I am now excited about this project. Here's hoping that Mr. Scott delivers what this franchise so much deserves.

At 0.29, there's an unmistakeable Space Jockey head/helmet being examined in a lab. Also, I think the 'Jockey Chair' is unoccupied as it rises through the floor - I've paused it over and over, trying to get a good view, but there doesn't seem to be anyone sat in the chair. Clearly some changes have occurred between this moment and Alien, there are a lot of structures in that 'cockpit' that aren't present during Dallas, Kane and Lambert's excursion. Maybe it isn't that exact ship, perhaps it's a newer or older model spacecraft, or maybe the room is open at the time, and those structures are removable docking equipment, or they disappear into the turntable thing?

I love the biomechanic look of the derelict space ship from Alien. The new one doesn't look so organic to me. I don't really know what to say about the tall humanoid standing on the side of the platform when the chair comes out of the platform, but at the moment on the trailer he looks rather silly to me. We'll see what it all turns into as a final film.


Those structures on the jockey platform I believe are capsules, either for sleeping in or for hyperspace jumping. I think that the tall man came out of one of the left of the space jockey's seat that rises out of the centre. Well, there's another seat now in that chamber.

I get the feeling the planet the Prometheus travels to is LV-426 that is in the process of being terraformed by the Jockeys. I think most of the movie happens on this planet. I also think the planet's gravity is a bit off on this planet. Or there is constant storms like the Genesis planet in Star Trek III because it's unstable.  But maybe, some of the crew have mutated and have new abilities.

Notice the map room is the same room as the Space Jockey Chair scene. Obviously, this room is used for navigation.

I also think somebody at the end of the movie crashes the Prometheus into the Derelict spacecraft to save Earth. Because the Jockey was impregnated knowing the organism inside would lay thousands of eggs and destroy mankind. There for the Derelict is permanently stranded on LV-426. The creature inside the Jockey probably busts out of it's chest after the ship has crashed on LV-426. Melts a hole through the disc and starts laying eggs. Giving us the link to ALIEN.

I also think the human scientists or David create the ALIEN in the lab with the goo from the urn and DNA from the Jockey head by mistake giving us the xenomorph we all love and adore!

I just hope there is no time travel in this movie! Too much like Star Trek!!!

There were an incredible amount of eggs, I highly doubt a single alien could create that quantity.  Also JC gave us the abomination (Queen) which lays the eggs. 

I also think the human scientists or David create the ALIEN in the lab with the goo from the urn and DNA from the Jockey head by mistake give us the xenomorph we all love and adore!

If this movie even hints at an explanation for the creation of the alien creature I will flip out.

I'm getting a slightly uneasy feeling that the big bald guy is one of the Space Jockeys sans suit. He looks quite tall next to that chair, maybe 8ft tall? The guy leaping onto the spacesuit-wearing individual looks like he is mutating into something else, maybe that 'leaked' plot synopsis that circulated a month or so back was genuine after all?

I doubt they would release an image of the "engineer" in the trailer so I believe the person/being to the right of the Space Jockey chair is there to throw us off.

But then who set's up the force field/stasis barrier over the eggs that Kane makes mention of?  And the eggs seemed to be arranged in a relatively orderly fashion when Kane stumbles upon them.

I've had a similar thought: that the goo is used to create organisms to populate a terraformed world, and it's potential is misunderstood by the crew of the Prometheus, and through tampering/tinkering a new life form is created.  Meaning that the alien ship was originally intended to be a kind of "Noah's Ark."

I just hope there is no time travel in this movie! Too much like Star Trek!!!
