But then who set's up the force field/stasis barrier over the eggs that Kane makes mention of? And the eggs seemed to be arranged in a relatively orderly fashion when Kane stumbles upon them. Okay maybe scratch that. I think the Ample Room becomes the egg room from the original ALIEN. I think the Bio Brain or Gaint Head some how changes the urns into eggs like that leaked script said. Still not sure how or why the jockey becomes impregnated and how the blue light barriers are setup? Maybe by the surviving crew members of the Prometheus, Shaw and Vickers. They create the SOS and setup the blue lights inside the crashed Derelict? The Jockey dies or is left for dead when the derelict crashes. Nobody knows it's impregnated? How it becomes fossilized is another mystery. Remember Lambert in the Director's Cut describes the S.O.S. as possibly being a voice. Maybe it could be the voice in the beginning of the trailer but electronically all scrambled up that it just sounds like white noise.

I'm getting a slightly uneasy feeling that the big bald guy is one of the Space Jockeys sans suit. Yeah, me too. (And I guess it would make some kind of sense. If the Jockeys somehow 'created' us, then why bother to make us like this unless they looked quite alike as well?) Hopefully not though. I'd be happier if the goopy-ooze turned out to be what lives in the SJ suit! I doubt they would release an image of the "engineer" in the trailer so I believe the person/being to the right of the Space Jockey chair is there to throw us off.
They released the Jockey head/helmet, a craft that is or is like the Derelict, and the Jockey chair. I don't think they'd mind releasing a jockey as well, especially as undefined as it is.

Holy FUCK! I got so excited about that trailer I had to come here and log in for the first time in 3,5 years This movie will be epic! I don't wanna know about it too much though, because the less you know about a movie the better experience it will be to see it for the first time... Oh, and it feels good to see so many familiar names still around here! Let's just all hope Prometheus will fix the damage all the shitty AvP movies have done for the Alien franchise. Space Jockey, omg!!

Oi! Try sticking around this time!
Downloaded the trailer in 1080p, will upload to my PS3 and watch it on my 55 inch television.
EDIT: GUYS YOU MUST WATCH THIS ON YOUR TV. The visual majesty of the film is incredible.

Very, very excited to see this movie. I'm loving the look of the characters too, Charlize and Noomi look great!
Only thing I dislike is the release date. Why you so far away?!

I'm interested in how this movie is going to feel. Alien is extremely isolated and claustrophobic and there are only 7 characters who don't really like or trust one another. This one's got enormous epic sweeping shots outdoors and seems to feature a larger cast.

Don't compare it to Alien. Ridley doesn't want you to compare it to Alien. It is its own film. It's not Teddy Roosevelt, it's Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

The eggs never seemed terribly orderly to me. As for the Jockey ship toppling over, it occurred to me - due to it not having the bends in each prong like the ship in Alien - that the toppling over caused the bending. Doesn't fit though since the starboard prong bends the wrong way.

I've also never seen any order to the positioning of the eggs in the Derelict - they are the same density of position as the eggs in the Hadley's Hope atmosphere processor, as if laid and positioned by a queen and her brood. From the rumours, the eggs in the derelict were laid where they are by either the mutated humans, or the alien born from the Space Jockey/Engineer.
The blue light may have been activated by the ship as a security measure - The ship sensed an alien presence aboard, so activated a stasis field to contain the infestation in the affected areas.
Those who believe the egg chamber to be the Ampule chamber should look again: The egg chamber isn't even a chamber, it's a long, winding structure more like a corridor. The Ampule chmber is more rounded, the head forming the centrepiece of the room.
I find it hard to believe I'm saying this, but I feel more at peace with the idea of The Big Baldy being a Space Jockey. He does resemble one of the fleshy humanoids from Giger's many beautiful airbrushed paintings, the skin tone is right, plus the stern but serene expression, from what we can see of his/her/its' face. The nose seems to run straight into the forehead at an angle consistent with the slope of the SJ helmet too, he also appears to lack clearly defined earflaps, so definitely isn't mammalian. Granted, we haven't had a very good look at the beings' face, so nothing can be said with any certainty - he could look less human than he appears at first glance.

PCTH! MY ORIGINAL HOME CHANGE! How have you been friend! I made you a birthday thread like YEARS ago!
And SM, the eggs in the original seem more orderly to me, than those. Might just be me.

Ridley Scott can stuff it.

Anyone else read Theron's recent interview? She gives quite a few spoilers concerning her character. She mentions that she works for "The Company" and evidently plays an antagonist throughout the movie with her own hidden agenda. I found it surprising she would reveal this much information about her character.

Ridley Scott can stuff it. It's not like he has been saying it's an Alien film. He's been downplaying the fact that it takes place in the some universe so that people don't compare it to the other films. Seems to me, he and the rest of the people involved are being forthright with what the film is, not trying to sell it under false pretenses.
