I have to admit, I love the trailers for these movies.
Brings me back to a time where I didn't know how bad some of them were.
I still love AvP though

This just reminds me how much better the ALIEN/Predator series could have been. Just imagine if FOX decided to stick with Ridley as a director for ALIENS and ALIEN III? Possibly collaberated with Cameron on ALIEN III? WOW!!!! Imagine ALIEN III being similar to ALIENS but twice the scale and a final showdown between man and ALIEN taking place on the ALIEN'S homeworld. Think Starship Troopers but with ALIENS. Now ALIENS have been reduced down to a possible creation by man? LAME!!! I just hope Prometheus does not kill the whole mystery of the ALIEN. The Predator series would have been much better if they stuck with Schwarzenegger for all the movies. I like the idea of Predator 2 taking place in a city. But make it New York and have the Predators track down Dutch for revenge! At the end of the Predator 2, have Dutch get stranded on the Predator's spaceship. Predator 3 takes place on the Predator's homeworld. Where Dutch must become a Predator in order to survive! As for the ALIEN vs. Predator series......WHY OH WHY did not one of the directors use some of the ideas that were established in the Dark Horse comics? Having the series take place in the future and not on the planet Earth! WOW! This series really could have kicked serious ASS!!!     |

I agree, AVP was just wrong in the first place. It should of never happened. You can't make a full comic book into a film with studio budgets and financial constraints. If they HAD to make a AVP movie the least they could of done with such a film would be to go with a full out war between Aliens and Predators. Have swarms of Aliens and massive ranks of Predators in a full fledged war. A huge epic battle. Bring in marines to try to contain the situation but fail. That would of been one hell of a ride. Just a full out WAR EPIC. Like have different kinds of Aliens with multiple queens reproducing as they kidnap human hosts. Have the nest be HUGE with different queens and create an army of Aliens against tribal bands of Predators.
Thats honestly what people wanted to see was a huge war but instead we got this extremely flawed minimalistic film that had a group of humans and a handful of aliens and predators and that was it. Thats why the movie was basically set up wrong to begin with.
It should of been a creature war film. Bring in armies of marines too. That would of been cool. That way the marines serve a purpose to the plot as hosts for the Aliens.
That honestly would of maybe made AVP a WAYYY better film. I never thought that AVP should of been made and I honestly hate both of the movies and the ideas that those movies were concieved out of but honestly....A war epic would of been the way to go and if they reboot the AVP series thats how I would make the film.
