Note how the mound in the second photo resembles Giger's art for the Harkonen palace in the aborted
Dune project!
Now that's out of the way, the passwords:
SERIOUSLY?
FFS, two password pages which, other than their URLs, look absolutely identical but have different passwords? Any idea how much confusion that causes if you're trying to crack them?
Case sensitivity? Yeah, that matters if you're worried about security. If you're running something viral, you actually want people to crack them. It's probably a bad idea to then convert a place name into lower case and then include spaces as well. Spaces in passwords!
And that second password - wow! The inclusion of a comma, a typo from the
wiki page on the Cosmic Call active SETI message structure, totally amazing. It's almost like they didn't want people to crack it.
And to be honest, the company doing the viral content actually had to lead people by the nose through twitter in order to have someone crack it. "Try it without the arrows. Didn't work? Use upper case. Didn't work? Oh, use the comma at the end!"
Doesn't bode well for any of the info contained on the Weyland Industries site.
