Sideshow Toys has just announced they'll be distributing a Hot Toys Alien 1/6th Scale Posable Model Kit from the original movie. They've nicknamed him 'Big Chap' although I had always thought the crew referred to him as the 'Big 'Un'. Sideshow Collectibles proudly presents the Hot Toys series of Movie Masterpiece collectible figures. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the original ALIEN film, the Alien 'Big Chap' is based on the original designs of H. R. Giger. The fully articulated collectible is in scale with the previously released Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece 1:6 Scale Alien and Predator releases.
The Alien 'Big Chap' Poseable Model Kit features:
- Over 19 points of articulation.
- Bendable hands, thenar, and tail.
- Extendable set of inner jaws.
- Two sets of Interchangeable hands.
- Environmental display base.The kit is retailing at $149.99 which is quite reasonable for a 1/6th scale figure. You can place a pre-order at Sideshow Toys right now and it will ship in the last quarter of this year. Thanks to alien_tattoo here in the forums for the heads up.

Ooooo... Nice one! Thanks alien_tattoo and Hicks!  EDIT:After looking at some of the pics of the figure I find the rust coloring an interesting touch. I don't recall the actual suit having that coloring, but it does add to the bio-mechanical feel of the creature. |

For the most part it's good. However, it appears to be missing the secondary thumbs. At least from what I can see.

It's there, but not. Instead of making it a "thumb" it's more of a pinky. The hand has six fingers, but the digit arrangement is slightly different.  ...wonder why that was done. |
