In other words: you don't like to extrapolate, so therefore we shouldn't either? ...The entire game is an extrapolation based on a universe of "what ifs" that revolve around two film franchises.  So in that regard any extrapolation on the character fits in wit the game.

Well if Kaneko was in the story mode, I'd be all for trying to figure out why he hasn't aged. But with mulitplayer, it's the same as if there would be a Ripley skin or Dutch skin. There just there for fans to play as.

My point about Kaneko was that if they were going to include him in the game with the given back story then shouldn't he look the part - multiplayer or not?  My beef isn't with him being in the game, but rather the fact that he's a Sgt 30 years after a given incident, and he looks like he's maybe 35 years old.  Quite simply: he doesn't match his back story.  So, multiplayer or not it doesn't work in my opinion.

The real reason probably why he even has a back story is because your average person would take a look at the preorder skins and ask, who's that?


And while we're talking about skins, on another site someone who went to the AVP event in Orlando wrote down some other multiplayer skins appearing in the game. They are -

By the way, after a 10 year tour, Hudson was only a PFC. I supposed that could be due to disciplinary action, but still. Other than Ferro, Dietrich, Hicks, or Apone, all the rest of the enlisted were either Privates or PFCs. Maybe it just takes a really long time to get promoted in the future due to the amount of time spent in hypersleep?

I think the guy spelled it wrong and it's suppose to be ridged head.

Isn't that the Cameron alien though? Largely regarded as the "warrior". Maybe it's ridged in some other way, we'll see!

Given the wide spectrum of alien incarnations we've seen in previous AVP games it could be anything.  My first guess would also be Cameron's alien which would make the Warrior something else.    Personally, I find the entire "caste system" that the games and comics use to be annoying - especially since there appeared to be no real caste system aside from adult alien and Queen in the films.

I suspect that the military's been downsized somewhat due to technology and operationmal requirements.  Outside of Hicks, the other corporals seem to have specialised roles, and having a lieutenant in charge of a squad of 10 seems a bit like overkill, except when you realise that he's also in charge of a nuclear-armed warship.  So maybe there's not as much progression anymore because it's not needed - you just have small squads and automated warships.
